It was a hot day, and Riki had opened the windows as he cooked. Melody sat by the counter, watching him. "I didn't know you knew how to cook. You normally just eat instant slop."
Riki grinned. "Normally, I'm too busy, or I just forget. But, summer classes don't start for another week, and I thought it would make a nice change. And, it really wasn't hard to get all the supplies, though I made some substitutions to make things edible to humans. Er..." he quickly turned around, stirring the blackening mess. "I hope you don't mind burned stir fry."
